Bayala is Schleich's fantasy play world, and it's easy to see why it's become one of the most loved ranges we stock. Here, fairies ride unicorns and Pegasus through flowering meadows, dragons watch over their young, and mermaids gather in an underwater kingdom. It's a world built entirely for storytelling.
What makes Bayala different from other Schleich ranges
Where Wild Life and Farm World are grounded in the real animal kingdom, Bayala is where imagination takes over completely. The detail is still there — the sculpting on a dragon's scales, the shimmer worked into a unicorn's mane, the delicate wings on a fairy figure — but the subject matter is pure fantasy. That's the appeal for a lot of children: familiar craftsmanship, unfamiliar creatures.
A few favourites from our Bayala & Fairies collection
- Unicorn Mare Seraphina and its match, Unicorn Stallion Orchid — a pair from Schleich's newest releases, sized to sit naturally alongside the older unicorns already on a child's shelf.
- Fairy Sera on Blossom Unicorn — for a child who wants the fairy and the unicorn as one story-ready piece, rather than shopping for them separately.
- Flower Dragon and Baby — a gentler dragon design, good for a child who wants dragons in their collection without anything too fierce.
- Mermaid Eyela on Underwater Horse — a way into the Bayala underwater world, for a change from unicorns and Pegasus.
- Sunrise Pegasus — a good next step once a child has a couple of unicorns and wants a flying figure to join them.
Where to start
For a first purchase, a smaller foal such as the Unicorn Foal Iris is a low-cost, sensibly sized way to introduce a child to the range before committing to a full mare or stallion.
Why it's worth collecting
Bayala rewards patience. Figures are designed to work together across the range, so a single unicorn foal bought this birthday can grow into a small herd by Christmas. It's less about one big set and more about a collection that grows the way a child's own stories do.
